A Successful Bilingual Networking
Session in Ottawa!
Toyo Educational is thrilled to share that our Bilingual Networking Session / Séance de réseautage bilingue was a resounding success! On Saturday, June 20th, 2026, community members, leaders, and changemakers gathered at the Jim Durrell Recreation Centre in Ottawa for an afternoon dedicated to Connecting Communities and Strengthening French Services.
The room was full of energy as participants engaged in meaningful bilingual discussions, exchanged ideas, and explored practical solutions to better serve and strengthen French-language services across our communities. From community organizations and women leaders to newcomer groups and francophone stakeholders, the diversity in the room reflected exactly the kind of collaboration this event set out to inspire.

We were honoured to be joined by our incredible featured speakers — Mr. Joseph Putchu, Dr. Shobo (Founder, AfroCulture Initiative), Mrs. Ifeoma Okonji (Founder, Emerging Lives Initiative), Mrs. Irene (Founder, Face2Face impact), and Mrs. Bridget Isah (Founder, Women Empowerment Service Aide Centre) — whose insights on community building, empowerment, and resilience sparked rich conversations and lasting connections.
A heartfelt thank you to our collaborators — Emerging Lives Initiative (ELI), WESAC Foundation, Face2Face, and AfroCulture Initiative — and to every attendee who showed up and contributed to making this gathering so impactful.
This event was made possible through the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage. Nous reconnaissons l'appui financier du gouvernement du Canada par l'entremise du ministère du Patrimoine canadien.
The connections made and conversations started here are just the beginning. Together, we're building stronger, more connected communities. 💙

YorkGate Community Fair!
Toyo Educational was proud to connect with families and community members at the York Gate Community Fair, bringing our mission of Bilingual Access for All / Accès bilingue pour tous directly to the heart of North York. Alongside partner organizations including CASE Community Services, CLASP, and Youth Unlimited, we shared resources on French-language learning, tutoring services, and free community workshops — in both English and French.
A Community That Shows Up
From our table full of Colours–Couleurs booklets to one-on-one conversations about bilingual access, this fair reminded us why we do what we do — connecting people to the services and opportunities they deserve. Thank you to every attendee, volunteer, and partner who stopped by and made this day so meaningful.
Your presence fuels our purpose. Thank you for making this day so special.

This Mother's Day!
Celebrating Mother's Day with our community was made possible through the generous support of Patrimoine canadien / Canadian Heritage.
Thanks to your funding, our Bilingual Empowerment Session brought Francophone women and girls in Thornhill together in a spirit of learning, connection, and celebration. We are truly grateful for partners who champion community.
Short & Sweet
